A Wink and a Smile #PinkWink #BOGOForTheCure

Press Sample.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

Brows. Big, full, brows.  That's been the beauty trend for a while now.  And full, long lashes are always in style.  But what if yours are sparse? Or, worse, you lost all of them because of chemotherapy? Wink is a natural oil blend that could help.

The first product I heard about for enhancing lash growth had the unnerving side effect of possibly changing the eye color.  I happen to like my deep brown eyes the way they are, so that was a non-starter for me.  So, the first question I had when I was offered the chance to try Wink, was if this was the same kind of product?

It isn't.  Hair follicle growth goes through a resting phase and a growth phase.  It turns out that our bodies need fatty acids to have our follicles make hair grow - but, our body often doesn't produce as many of these fatty acids as we need.  Wink has Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, that, when applied consistently on the follicles, gets them to go from the resting stage to the growth stage quicker and stay longer, resulting in more hairs, and longer hairs.
The best part?  It's all natural oils! Cruelty-free, vegan, nourishing oils.  The applicator is a twist-from-the-bottom, with a soft brush at the top to help evenly spread the heavy oils.  I've used it in the daytime on days I'm not going anywhere, or putting makeup on, but it really fits well into my nighttime skincare regimen.  After cleansing, toning, moisturizing - the lot - and when I'm ready to go to sleep, this is the last thing I put on.  I have been using it on my eyebrows, as well as my top and bottom lashes.  I found that I didn't like it in the inner corner of my eyes, but I don't like the feel of anything there, really.
The hair growth cycle is about 12 weeks, and I didn't have that long to test this because my first sample got lost in the mail, and I really needed to tell you about this product before October is finished. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and Amalie is partnering with cancer charities to provide Wink in gift bags to those in cancer treatment.  But, they can't do it alone - for the month of October, for every Wink purchased, they will donate one!
Even after 2 weeks of testing, I did notice some changes.  In fact, this picture is a little misleading, because a few days before I took it, I had a serious tweezing session on my brows!  I had hairs growing in down my brow bone, and I needed to clean that up.  It's true about the fatty acids - they were making all the hairs in that area start growing!
I tried taking some closer shots of my eyelashes so you could see the little hairs poking out, but I'll be honest.  The picture came out super-creepy. I could not imagine that anyone really wanted to look that closely at my eyeball! I know it's almost Halloween, but... no.  With mascara on, the difference became even more noticeable.  Fuller lashes at the root makes for a much more youthful, defined eye.

A little BCA-inspired nailart! The base pink is Wet 'n Wild Love Fest, then I created a Ruffian with Sinful Colors Piece Out Pink.  A black striper added some contrast, and a ribbon.
I've become a big fan of Amalie Beauty!  I reviewed their amazing oil, Shine, before, and now I'm a fan of Wink.  I'm also excited about their work to help restore the confidence of people who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.  Check out the inspiring Warrior Stories on Amalie's webpage.  Some of my favorite bloggers have had more time to work with Wink, and I encourage you to check out their reviews and see what BeautyInfoZone, FutureDerm, Casual Contrast, Honey Girl's World, and Notes From My Dressing Table thought of their Wink experience!

For more information, or to purchase, you can find them on Twitter, Instagram, and on their webpage, wherea 2-month supply of WINK currently retails for $40. Remember, during the month of October, every purchase of Wink puts a free tube in the hands of a Cancer Warrior!
